Who’s Who in Latino Louisville was established to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of Hispanics and Latino leaders in Greater Louisville.

Our purpose is to raise the awareness within the community of prominent Latino business and community leaders, while energizing and uniting the Latino community through common cause. This 1st Annual Who’s Who In Latino Louisville Awards Celebration and Profile Book is not only a time for reflection on the vast and wide ranging accomplishments of the Hispanic and Latino community in Louisville, but is also a time to plan for future successes. It is today that we plant the seed of civic pride and leadership in the future leaders of our community. Therefore, a portion of the funds generated by Who’s Who in Latino Louisville will be pledged to Hispanic/Latino youth in a program that will allow them to interact on a regular basis with current Hispanic and Latino business and community leaders.

Who’s Who in Latino Louisville was born from mere necessity. The growth by this minority group in the last few years it’s been exponentially amazing. The passion engrained in the cultural DNA gives this city a flair of multiculturalism, growth and progress. We want to see more Latinos in this community and others, rise to, and be recognized for the success and contributions they make to Louisville as a whole. Bringing together individuals of diverse Hispanic backgrounds as a united group of Latino Leaders with a common purpose, could only further the credibility, image and influence of Latinos in America.

The 1st Who’s Who in Latino Louisville Awards Celebration will take place in the Fall of 2009; at the celebration our specific awards will be presented based upon the criteria approved by our selection committee. Persons who are selected for our specific awards will be recognized at our awards celebration and will receive a one page biography and a black and white photograph in the “Who’s Who in Latino Louisville Profile Book”.

In addition to the specific awards, area companies will have the right to select certain individuals within their organization to be highlighted in our “Who’s Who in Latino Louisville Profile Book”. Individuals selected by companies will receive a one-half page biography and a black and white photograph about the individual in the appropriate category; these individuals will be recognized by name at the awards celebration.
